TiDani keeps your files on the computer that holds them, so a computer has to be on and online for its files to be searched. If a file you expect is missing from answers, this is the first thing to check.
Checklist
- Is the computer on and connected to the internet? Asleep or offline counts as off.
- Is TiDani running? By default it keeps sharing after you close its window. This depends on the setting Keep sharing when TiDani closes in Settings.
- Is the computer listed as sharing? Open Workspace, then Computers. A computer that is offline is marked, and an admin can restart it.
- Was the file added recently? New files are read on their own, but a big folder can take a few minutes. Use Read changed files now under This computer.
- Can you read it? If the file is above your access level, TiDani leaves it out.
If you are offline
The app shows “You’re offline” and reconnects when your internet is back.
Tip for teams
If important files live on one computer, ask its owner to leave it on during working hours, or share the same files from a computer that is usually on.
